You will need to think about the following basic aspects of the design:
- Content: the information on the site. This should be relevant to the site and your target audience.
- Usability: the site should be easy to navigate, simple to use and reliable.
- Appearance: it is best if the graphics and text follow a single style that flows throughout. The style should be professional, appealing and relevant.
- Visibility: the site must also be easy to find via most, if not all, major search engines and advertisement media.
We can help with all of these except the first. Content only you can provide. The appearance will also depend heavily on your wishes. On all the rest we can supply or help you to procure from others.
Visibility (otherwise know as Search Engine Optimisation) is very important. Many will tell you that they know how to fox Google and other search engines into believing yours is the most relevant site on any search. In my experience, many of these techniques, for which you would be asked to pay, do not work. If your content is good, well set out and relevant, it will be found. But we can help it along to way with some simple and costless behind the scenes work, like a good sitemap, a "robots.txt" file to help google's automated 'crawlers' find the relevant pages and good meta tags for your pages (ie the pointers Google uses for ranking sites that people viewing your pages do not generally see).
